About Me
Ron Klaiss is the owner and operator of Mine Mount Models, where he specializes in creating exceptional diorama model kits and model railroad kits. Ron's love for model railroading began at 5 years old with the typical Lionel train set around the Christmas tree. This enthusiasm quickly blossomed into a passion during his teenage years, as he learned many skills from reading modeling magazines and experimenting with new techniques. He has built several railroad layouts for both himself and clients, showcasing scales such as N, HO, Marklin HO, Lionel O, and LGB, including his own Ron Klaiss model kits.
In addition to model making, Ron enjoys gardening, woodworking in his shop, playing guitar, and watching his son beat him in video games, as well as sharing a love for music and photography with his daughter.
With the support and encouragement from his wife, Michelle, Ron has united all of his talents to produce some of the finest diorama model kits and model railroad kits available in the modeling community.
