About Us

Ron Klaiss is the owner and operator of Mine Mount Models.

Ron's love for model railroading began at 5 years old with the typical Lionel train set around the christmas tree. It quickly grew into a passion through his teen years, where he learned many of his skills from reading the pages of modeling magazines, and not being afraid to experiment with new techniques. He has built several railroad layouts for both himself, and clients. Ranging in scales of N, HO, Marklin HO, Lionel O, and LGB. 

Ron also enjoys gardening, woodworking in his shop, playing guitar, watching his son kick his butt in video games, and loving music and photography with his daughter.

With the help and encouragement from  his wife, Michelle, Ron has combined all of his talents to produce some of the finest model kits available in the modeling community.
